MEDIA TOURS
In keeping with SA Great’s Strategic Intent, Media Tours are conducted to raise the media's awareness of South Australia as a young, creative and innovative place, with inspiring people doing great things. The aim of the tours is to put South Australia on the radar next time story ideas are pitched.
In 2009, SA Great took interstate media guests on a whirlwind tour of Adelaide during the city's Mad March period.
The journalists were from top interstate media publications including Ralph Magazine, Drum Media street press in Sydney and Foreign Correspondents Association. A journalist who writes for Australian New Express Daily and several Chinese media publications also joined the tour.
Media guests rode on Harley motorbikes through the Adelaide Hills and southern coast regions, dined at Port Willunga's Star of Greece with local MPs, winemakers and food producers and toured the Central Markets and Haighs Chocolate Factory. Guests were treated to two full nights of entertainment at the Clipsal 500 and Adelaide Fringe Festival and dined at some of Adelaide's best restaurants.
In 2008, SA Great held two media tours hosting editors and senior staff from Men’s Style, Jmag, New Woman and Frankie, while in 2007, the Media Tour hosted editors and writers from national magazines Marie Claire, Madison, FHM and GQ Australia.
