ACTA brings $62 million worth of events to SA
The Adelaide Convention Tourism Authority’s recent figures show the organisation has attracted more than $62 million worth of events to the State during the first half of this financial year. Some of the key events secured includes the 2014 World Aquaculture conference, which will attract over 3000 delegates and inject up to $11 million into the State’s economy during the four-day event.

Heart Foundation urges parents to pack healthy lunchboxes
Australia's Heart Foundation is encouraging parents to use margarine instead of butter when making their child's lunch for school. The Foundation claims that parents can reduce 11kg of unnecessary saturated fat from their children's diet each year by simply making the switch.

Orana helps to save Lower Lakes with revegetation project
Staff from SA disability provider, Orana, has embarked on a revegetation project for the Lower Lakes by planting hardy crops native to the area. Orana recently opened a new shade dome and plant propagation area in Meningie which aims to slow the Coorong's degredation. 

University of Adelaide professor to lead energy pipeline research

Professor Valerie Linton from the University of Adelaide will combine her management and research skills to lead the new Energy Pipelines Cooperative Research Centre as its inaugural CEO. The Centre will play a key role in finding ways to implement natural gas systems and pipelines as the nation looks to decrease its carbon emissions.

UniSA launches fatigue calculator for workplaces
The University of South Australia’s Professor Drew Dawson has developed a fatigue calculator which enables workers in high-risk industries to assess when they are too tired to work safely. The calculator will take into consideration how long the worker has been awake and how much sleep they have had in the previous two days.
